How to open the firewall port for SQL Server on Windows Server 2008/R2

  • Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  • At the command prompt, use the cd command to move to the folder in which you saved the OpenSqlServerPort.bat file.
  • To run the SQLopenports.bat script, type SQLopenports.bat at the command prompt, and then press Enter.
